On July 8, at the Tran Van Thoi Martyrs' Cemetery, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Ca Mau province organized an incense offering ceremony and handed over 237 samples of martyrs' remains that have not been identified for DNA testing to the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security.
According to the Steering Committee, the sampling process was carried out for 263 unidentified martyrs' graves at Tran Van Thoi Martyrs' Cemetery. After analyzing and classifying according to technical procedures, the specialized force collected 237 samples that met the conditions for DNA testing.

To deploy the task, the Ca Mau Provincial Military Command advised the Provincial Steering Committee to establish an inter-sectoral working group and two specialized sample taking teams. During the excavation, the forces coordinated with Viettel Ca Mau to digitize the entire mộ chí dossier, area diagram, gathering information and sample taking sheets right at the scene, creating a database for management, storage and comparison of appraisal results.
Immediately after the incense offering ceremony, the transportation team of the Steering Committee brought all biological samples by specialized vehicle to Can Tho International Airport to transfer to Hanoi for handover to the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security.
According to the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Ca Mau province, after this handover, the province will continue to take samples for unidentified graves at Nam Can Martyrs Cemetery and the remaining martyrs' cemeteries. Ca Mau strives to complete the taking of samples for all 3,382 unidentified martyrs' graves in the area in the first quarter of 2027, creating a basis to accelerate the identification of martyrs.
