We went to a small house in the middle of a poor hamlet in Phu Thanh hamlet, Loc Thuan commune, Binh Dai district, where Ms. Tran Que Thanh (born in 1990) is struggling with illness every day. Faces swollen due to complications, khmer body, tight breathing and fatigue.
Ms. Thanh said that at the age of 23, during a job trip, she suddenly fainted. After transferring her to Ho Chi Minh City for examination, the doctor diagnosed her with end-stage kidney failure.
With no money to replace her kidneys, she only took resistance medicine, and now her illness has become serious, with sequelae that caused her face to be swollen and hard, making it very difficult for her to eat. Recently, she also had a narrow heart valve and had to undergo surgery to reattach the valve.
"I just hope to wake up every morning and see my husband and children. Having health to sit up on your own, eating and drinking is not a luxury. The disease got worse, but the money for medicine and re-examination vehicles did not know where to get it from," Thanh choked up, her tired eyes in the middle of a dilapidated house.

Her mother - Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hiep (1966) - choked up: " Her husband hired her to do whatever he wanted, both taking care of food and water and running medicine and tuition for her daughter, spending more than 6 million VND per month, not including the cost of a bus to see a doctor. Both families are poor so they don't know who to trust...".
Mrs. Tam, a neighbor near her home, said that Thanh has been sick for more than 10 years, her family is in trouble, and she has been running around.
"The neighborhood like us is also poor, life still has to worry about every meal, so we can only help a few kicks of rice, sometimes fish, sometimes collect five hundred thousand to send medicine to our grandchildren... but it helps not much, I feel very sorry," Ms. Tam added.
Mr. Truong Tan Yen - Secretary of Phu Thanh Hamlet Party Cell said that Ms. Thanh's family is a poor household, in especially difficult circumstances.
The locality always puts her on the priority list of receiving gifts from organizations and donors every holiday and Tet holiday. The people here are also poor, they can only help a little. "We hope that the community and philanthropists across the country will help save an unfortunate fate," Mr. Yen added.
