The family of Mr. Huynh Van Teo, born in 1980 (46 years old) in Xuan Ninh village, Van Hung commune, Khanh Hoa province, continuously fell into difficulties when illnesses continuously struck. Both husband and wife are seriously ill and unable to work. In particular, Mr. Teo was diagnosed with heart valve regurgitation, the treatment cost could be up to hundreds of millions of VND.
Since the disease was discovered, Mr. Teo has undergone 3 major surgeries, costing up to half a billion VND. To have money for treatment, the family had to mortgage the land use right certificate, borrow money everywhere in 2023. Only after 3 years, the dangerous disease changed again, the family was helpless to borrow money everywhere for the fourth treatment of the father.
Not only Mr. Teo is sick, his wife is also suffering from many diseases such as diabetes, vestibular disorders, stomach pain... causing serious health decline, unable to go to work to earn income. All burdens in the family currently fall on the second child, Mr. Huynh Thanh Suong (born in 1999).
Sharing with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Suong said that he used to work far away, but because his parents were sick for a long time, he decided to quit his job to return to his hometown to take care of his family. The other two children have established their own families, and their economic conditions are not well-off, so they cannot help much.
The source of income is almost gone, while the cost of medicine, hospital fees, and travel is increasingly piled up, causing the family to fall into a deadlock. Although not belonging to the near-poor household category, Mr. Teo's family still has to ask relatives and friends many times to post information on social networks to call for help. However, the money received is mainly enough to cover medicine and immediate living expenses.

Neighbors also sympathize with the family's situation.
