On March 27, 1968, Yuri Gagarin's life ended tragically. Gagarin was close to death many times during his legendary flight. And the last time before the sacrifice was after parachuting, the air vents outside the suits were not open. It was not until 6 minutes later that the Gagarin used his hand to open it, and by then the situation was extremely dangerous, the Gagarin almost suffocated.
In 1966, Gagarin was a reserve flightai vien for Vladimir Komarov, the first space traveler to die in a flight. And if for some reason Komarov cannot fly, Gagarin will replace him on that unfortunate ship.
But this time, space traveler number 1 passed away while there seemed to be no warning of danger. The incident occurred during a regular training flight on a MiG-15UTI fighter jet.
Three theories of disaster
On March 27, 1968, a plane piloted by Soviet space travel pilot Yuri Gagarin and inspector Vladimir Seregin crashed near the village of Novoselovo in the Vladimir region.
According to the official theory, the cause of the tragedy was due to the plane's over-turning, leading to loss of control and falling into a vicious cycle.
The investigation team concluded that all of the Gagarin and Seregin's actions were optimal, but they only needed two seconds to get the plane out of the vong...
What caused Gagarin and Seregin to perform a deadly move remains a mystery. There are some theories as follows:
1. Alexei Leonov's hypothetical: pilots fell into the spiral of another hypersonic fighter jet
According to Soviet space traveler Alexei Leonov (1934 - 2019), the cause of the tragedy was due to "failure to release and violation of flight regime".
Another aircraft, the supersonic Su-15, took off from another airport in Zhukovsky, illegally flying in the area with training flights of Gagarin and Seregin.
The Su-15 was originally scheduled to fly at an altitude of over 10,000 meters, but for some reason it was downgraded to a altitude of 450 meters - in the area where Gagarin and Seregin were flying for training.
To return to his team, the Su-15 pilot turned on the rear-end acceleration mode (in the thick clouds, he could not immediately see the MiG-15UTI nearby) and the Gagarin plane fell into the rear-wheel drive vong of the Su 15.
Alexei Arkhipovich knew knew Gagarin died for who, but he had sworn never to mention the pilots who made that mistake.
2. Kachorovsky's theories: Gagarin refuses to parachute first
pilots - researcher Ilya Kachorovsky noted that Gagarin is not an experienced pilot.
In his six years as a space traveler, Gagarin has not made a single independent flight.
It is not 25.25's fault, but because in the space pilot team, people are trained in other skills, they do not fly regularly.
Seregin, the regiment commander, also flew very little. According to Kachorovsky, a small mistake by the pilot could lead to tragedy.
After receiving the return order, Gagarin put the plane in a so-called downward spiral.
But when the plane falls into a state ofoc tut, the pilots can still launch it. Why didn't they do that?
According to the MiG-15UTI's design feature, the pilots must be the first to leave the aircraft and the Gagarin will be the second. Seregin could not do so because he did not want to leave the fate of space traveler number 1.
And in reality, there was no time for both pilots to escape. Seregin must have shouted for the Gagarin to launch first.
Gagarin knew this would lead to the death of the pilots. And Kachorovsky said that Gagarin did not want to save his life at such a price.
3. Mironov's theories: A series of violations on the ground have led to tragedy
A.D.Mironov (1917 - 2019) was a member of the first committee investigating the cause of death of space travelers and director of research at the Institute for Flight Studies.
"I was impressed by the fact that in the regiment where the astronauts are trained, flight discipline is very low.
I have counted the 11 violations of the rules that occurred on March 27" - Arseniy Mironov said.
For example, Vladimir Seregin was delayed for nearly 30 minutes when his superiors called him to get a job. Because of this, people started to rush, the flight crew did not receive reports from the meteorological department while people were talking about low clouds. Moreover, the weather is predicted to get worse.
On the other hand, the mission focuses on performing aerial yetting movements outside or behind clouds. That is an impossible task!
Part of the radar device at the airport is inactive and on the ground, people do not notice in cloud conditions, the MiG -15 UTI of Gagarin and Seregin begins to fly to the left, approaching the Andreev pilot area is doing an exercise - Andreev is checking the aircraft engine after repairing.
Andreev was expected to take off 30 minutes after Gagarin and Seregin, but as mentioned above, the two took off 30 minutes late, so the two aircraft were in the air at the same time.
According to Mironov, after returning to duty, Gagarin and Seregin were surprised to see Andreev's plane approaching them dangerously in the space of clouds. They started to crack the steering wheel strongly to avoid the collision and fell into a state of torsion.
