Clause 10, Point a, Clause 11, Article 9 of Decree 79/2026/ND-CP Regulating penalties for administrative violations in the field of management and protection of national borders (effective from May 2, 2026), stipulates as follows:

10. A fine of between 40 million VND and 75 million VND shall be imposed for one of the following acts:

a) Shooting, launching, releasing, and controlling aircraft in border areas or across borders;

b) Mining minerals within a radius of 500 meters from the land border;

c) Installing equipment to store dangerous chemicals and building hazardous waste treatment facilities within a scope of 1,000 meters from the land border.

11. Additional penalties:

a) Confiscating exhibits and means of administrative violations for violations specified in point c, clause 2, point a, clause 3, point d, clause 4, clause 6, point c, clause 7, point b, clause 9, clause 10 of this Article.

Thus, from May 2, 2026, drone operators in border areas may be fined up to 75 million VND and have their vehicles confiscated according to the above regulations.
