Scholarships for semiconductive microchip major students from mid-July 2026

Article 3 of Decree No. 179/2026/ND-CP stipulates scholarship policies for learners of basic sciences, key techniques and strategic technology (effective from July 15, 2026) stipulates training programs entitled to scholarship policies as follows:

1. Training programs for basic sciences, key techniques and strategic technology belonging to the training industry groups specified in the Appendix issued together with this Decree.

2. Talent training programs and training programs on semiconductor microchips belonging to industry groups as prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article approved by the Minister of Education and Training.

Point a, Clause 2 and Point a, Clause 3, Article 6 of Decree No. 179/2026/ND-CP stipulate the scholarship level and scholarship granting time as follows:

2. Scholarship level: The monthly scholarship level is regulated according to the training level and group of programs, training majors as follows:

a) For university-level students:

Talent training program: 5.5 million VND/month;

Training program for semiconductor microchips, basic science majors: 4.2 million VND/month;

Training program for key technical and strategic technology majors: 3.7 million VND/month.

3. Scholarship period

a) Students are entitled to scholarships for 10 months/year; the total scholarship benefit period is no more than 4 years for the bachelor's training program and no more than 5 years for the engineer training program with a total number of credits from 150 or more;

Thus, from July 15, 2026, students studying in the semiconductor microchip training program will receive a scholarship of 4.2 million VND/month according to the above regulations.
