Taking advantage of position and power to protect prostitution activities can be fined up to 75 million VND

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 34 of Decree 282/2025/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of security, order, and social safety; prevention and control of social evils; prevention and control of domestic violence (effective from December 15, 2025) stipulates other acts related to prostitution as follows:

1. A warning or a fine of VND 300,000 to VND 500,000 for the act of buying, selling sex, or sexually ducting.

2. Fine from 5 million VND to 10 million VND for concealing and protecting acts of prostitution.

3. Fine from 10 million VND to 20 million VND for acts of assisting, enticing, inciting, forcing or forcing others to buy sex, prostitution.

4. Fine from 30 million VND to 50 million VND for one of the following acts:

a) Using force, threatening to use force to protect and maintain prostitution activities;

b) Contributing money or assets for use in prostitution;

c) Brokerage of prostitution or prostitution but not to the extent of criminal prosecution.

5. Fines from VND 50 million to VND 75 million for one of the acts of taking advantage of position, power, and prestige to protect and maintain prostitution activities.

6. Remedial measures:

Forced to return any illegal profits obtained from committing a violation of the provisions of Clauses 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of this Article.

Thus, taking advantage of position and power to protect prostitution activities can be subject to the highest administrative penalty of up to 75 million VND.
