On November 7, information from the victim's family said that after a period of treatment for injuries caused by being beaten by a friend, Nguyen Kham M (residing in village 3, Cam Lac commune), a 9B grade student at Minh Lac Secondary School, died. The family held a funeral and buried M for a week.
A leader of Cam Lac commune also confirmed that there was an incident where student M, grade 9B at HTCS Minh Lac, was beaten by another student at the school, and died about a week ago after being treated.
According to the report of Cam Lac commune, at around 11:25 a.m. on September 24, 2025, after school dismissal, Nguyen Kham M (class 9B, residing in village 3, Cam Lac commune), Thieu Quang H (class 9D, residing in Quang Trung 1 village, Cam Lac commune) and Vo Quoc A (class 9B, residing in Ha Van village, Cam Lac commune) all studying at Minh Lac Secondary School got into a fight with Le Van Phuong (born in 2007, residing in Quang Trung 1 village, Cam Lac commune), a student at Cam Xuyen Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center.
The reason for the fight was due to a previous conflict.
As a result, M was beaten by Le Van Phuong, causing head injuries and had to undergo emergency surgery at Ha Tinh General Hospital at 2:30 p.m. the same day due to a traumatic brain injury.
After emergency surgery, M continued to be treated at Ha Tinh General Hospital until October 8. Since October 9, due to high fever, the child was transferred by his family to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.
On October 30, M died at the National Children's Hospital. After that, the family took her body back to her hometown to hold a funeral and bury her on October 31.
Immediately after the incident, the leaders of Minh Lac Secondary School reported to the Commune Police and Cam Lac Commune People's Committee. Cam Lac Commune Police have summoned the students involved to work and investigate.
The People's Committee of Cam Lac commune has supported 10 million VND, Minh Lac Secondary School has supported 17 million VND for the family to cover the cost of treatment for M. However, due to serious injuries, he did not survive.
The case is continuing to be investigated and clarified.
