The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
On November 14, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a resolution regulating the criteria for establishing a Security and Order Protection Team; criteria for the number of members of the Security and Order Protection Team; level of support, compensation and spending for forces participating in security and order protection at the grassroots level in the city.
According to the provisions of this resolution, people participating in the security and order protection force at the grassroots level are entitled to a compensation when on duty from 10:00 p.m. the previous day to 6:00 a.m. the following day, which is 150,000 VND/person/night, not more than 10 nights/person/month; when performing heavy, toxic, or dangerous work according to the provisions of the law on labor, they are entitled to a compensation of 150,000 VND/person/day and when on duty on holidays and days off, they are entitled to a compensation of 600,000 VND/person/day.
When performing duties in border areas, islands, mountainous areas, areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, ethnic minority areas or at key commune-level administrative units for national defense, they will receive an additional allowance of 70,000 VND/day/person for working days.
Thus, the number of people participating in security and order protection at the grassroots level in Ho Chi Minh City when performing night duty is 150,000 VND/person/night and no more than 10 nights/person/month.
