On the morning of November 21 in Da Lat, the Vietnam Journalists Association held a conference to "Improve the quality and effectiveness of supporting press activities and the Association's work in the context of merger and consolidation".
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - said that the event took place in the context of many Central Highlands provinces still being heavily affected by historic floods.

He emphasized that the image of journalists working in flooded areas, along with press units donating to support colleagues and people affected by natural disasters, clearly demonstrated the sense of responsibility and humanity of the press.
Organizing a conference in Lam Dong - one of the localities affected by storms - is also a testament to the sharing and support of the press nationwide.

The conference took place in the context of the whole country summarizing and preparing for the 14th National Party Congress and implementing the merger and consolidation of administrative units to build a streamlined and effective apparatus. This is a major task, directly affecting the organization of the Journalists Association and the operation of press agencies, from the apparatus, law, finance to the minds of the profession.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized: The merger must not affect the quality of content, creative flow and the ideological orientation of revolutionary journalism. Support resources must be allocated in the right direction, prioritizing major topics such as Party building, sovereignty protection, and fighting against corruption and negativity".

At the conference, the presentations clarified many issues facing current press activities. Delegates analyzed the increasingly important role of digital technology in content production, acknowledged the silent efforts of journalists and emphasized the need to improve the quality of works in the face of public strictness.
Many opinions also said that the merger and consolidation process is directly affecting the apparatus, funding, human resources and professional interests of journalists. In a constructive spirit, delegates proposed many solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Association's activities, increase support for members and maintain the creative flow of the press, contributing to the good implementation of propaganda tasks in the new period.
The conference set out 4 main goals: Creating a forum for sharing experiences in court administration and digital transformation; evaluating the High-quality Journalism Work Support Program according to Decision 558 of the Prime Minister; identifying difficulties in the merger process; and recommending solutions to strengthen the Association's organization, perfecting specific financial mechanisms for the press.
