At the session, the Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Council, term XV, 2021 - 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. The session also elected Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Chief Inspector of the province, as a member of the Provincial People's Committee.
Along with personnel work, the session reviewed and approved 4 thematic resolutions, including: adjusting and assigning the provincial budget expenditure estimate for 2025 to units after the arrangement; allocating targeted additional funding from the central budget according to Decision No. 2332/QD-TTg; supplementing the list of land plots to conduct bidding to select investors for land use projects in 2025 (phase 6); stipulating the level of expenditure and time to receive support to serve the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.
Speaking at the closing session, the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Lo Minh Hung, emphasized that the resolutions passed are of great significance, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and preparing for the upcoming election.
He suggested that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee focus on preparing for the end of 2025 session and the term summary conference; at the same time, proactively prepare conditions to ensure the election is democratic, in accordance with the law, safe and effective.
Mr. Lo Minh Hung, born on January 15, 1971 in Chieng La commune (Son La), has a Master's degree in Business and Management, and a high level of political theory. He has held many positions in Thuan Chau district and Son La province, from Deputy Head of the District Tax Department, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. On November 21, 2025, he was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province, term XV.
