Bonus level for soldiers awarded the Third Class Medal of Honor from July 2025

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 1, Article 50 of the 2022 Law on Emulation and Commendation stipulates: "Three-class Medal of Merit" is awarded or posthumously awarded to individuals who are loyal to the Fatherland and the People and meet one of the following criteria:

a) Having made outstanding achievements in combat, serving combat, having the effect of encouraging, educating, setting an example in the entire military region, army, army, service, general department and equivalent under the Ministry of National Defense, in the force system in the People's Public Security or in one of the fields under the management of a Ministry, department, branch or province recognized by a Ministry, branch or province;

b) Proactively, intensively, bravely, and effectively performing in combating and serving the fight to protect sovereignty, national security, or fight against crime, contributing to maintaining political security, order, and social safety; complying with the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State; excellently completing assigned tasks; achieving achievements with a scope of influence and setting an example in the entire military region, army, army, service, general department and equivalent under the Ministry of National Defense, in the force system in the People's Public Security or in one of the fields under the management of the Ministry, department, branch, or province recognized by the Ministry, branch, branch, or province.

Point h, Clause 1, Article 50 of Decree 152/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates the bonus level for individuals awarded the Third Class "Lager Medal", the Third Class "Hit Medal", the Third Class "Fatherland Protection Medal" and the "Mortage Medal": 4.5 times the basic salary;

According to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, the current basic salary is 2,340,000 VND/month.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, soldiers awarded the Third Class Medal of Honor will be awarded VND 10,530,000 according to the above regulations.
