Point d, Point e, Point g, Clause 2 and Point d, Point e, Clause 3, Article 89 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024 (effective from January 1, 2025) stipulate the transition as follows:
2. A driving license issued before the effective date of this Law shall not be exchanged or reissued according to the provisions of this Law and shall be valid as follows:
d) Automatic driving license of class B1 issued to non-drivers to continue driving automatic cars carrying people up to 08 seats (excluding the driver's seat); trucks, including specialized automatic trucks with a load capacity of less than 3,500 kg;
e) Class B1 driving license issued to non-drivers who are allowed to continue driving passenger cars with up to 08 seats (excluding the driver's seat); trucks and tractors with a load capacity of less than 3,500 kg;
g) Class B2 driving license issued to drivers who are allowed to continue driving passenger cars with up to 08 seats (excluding the driver's seat); trucks and tractors with a load capacity of less than 3,500 kg;
3. In case a person with a driving license issued before the effective date of this Law needs to change or reissue a driving license, the following shall be done:
d) The automatic class B1 driving license is changed or reissued to a class B driving license with the limitation of only being allowed to drive automatic cars;
e) The B1 and B2 driving licenses are changed or reissued to a B or C1 driving license and a certificate to drive a specialized motorbike for drivers of tractors with a load capacity of up to 3,500 kg;
Thus, in 2025, the automatic class B1 driving license will be changed and reissued to a class B driving license with the limited condition of only being allowed to drive automatic cars; the class B1, B2 driving license will be changed and reissued to a class B or class C1 driving license and a certificate to drive a specialized motorbike for drivers of tractors with a load capacity of up to 3,500 kg according to the above regulations.
