Regulations on the People's Public Security Inspectorate

Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 7 of Decree 164/2024/ND-CP on the organization and operation of the People's Public Security Inspectorate (effective from February 10, 2025) stipulates the agency performing the function of People's Public Security Inspectorate as follows:

1. The People's Public Security Inspectorate includes:

a) Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security (hereinafter referred to as the Inspectorate of the Ministry);

b) Inspectorate of Public Security of provinces and centrally-run cities (hereinafter referred to as Inspectorate of Provincial Public Security);

c) Inspector of the Police Department managing detention camps, compulsory education facilities, and reformatory schools; Inspector of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting, and Rescue Police Department (hereinafter referred to as the Inspector of the Department).

2. District, town, county, city police under provinces, cities under centrally-run cities and police units with 200 or more officers and soldiers shall arrange full-time inspectors; police units with less than 200 officers and soldiers shall arrange part-time inspectors.

The number of full-time inspectors and part-time inspectors at units is decided by the Head of the unit.

Thus, the People's Public Security Inspectorate includes the agencies as prescribed above.
