The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 1, Article 44 of Decree 282/2025/ND-CP (effective from December 15, 2025) stipulates as follows: Fine from 20 million VND to 30 million VND for one of the following acts:

a) Conquering common property of a family or private property of another family member;

b) Destroying common property of the family or private property of other family members but not to the extent of criminal prosecution;

c) Forcing a family member to work too much;

d) Forcing family members to contribute finances beyond their ability;

d) Controlling the assets and income of family members to create a state of material, spiritual or other dependence.

Thus, from December 15, 2025, if the wife forces her husband to contribute more than his salary monthly, he can be fined up to 30 million VND.
