The joy of settling down among workers
The groundbreaking of a social housing project in Long Chau ward is creating excitement among people, especially low-income workers who are facing many difficulties in stable housing.
The project is expected to not only meet immediate housing needs but also contribute to ensuring social security, gradually improving the quality of life for urban people in Vinh Long province.
The family of Ms. Le Thi Thu (residing in Long Chau ward) currently has many generations living together in a house of over 100 square meters. Limited space makes daily activities inconvenient.
Ms. Thu said that when she heard the news that the social housing project had started construction, her family was very happy. This is an opportunity for her children and grandchildren to access their own home and have long-term stability.

Sharing the same expectation, Mr. Nguyen Anh Khoa - a worker at Vinh Tien Garment Company - currently has to travel more than 20km per day to work, hoping to soon register to buy a house in the project.
According to Mr. Khoa, if you own an apartment in Long Chau ward, going to work will be more convenient, reduce living costs, and create conditions for children to study near the center.
Many workers believe that social housing is not only a place to live but also helps them feel secure in their work and stay with businesses and localities for a long time.
Adjusting targets, determined to implement transparency
Determining this as a project of important social security significance, the leaders of Vinh Long province requested the investor to focus resources, organize scientific construction, ensure progress and quality of the project.
Mr. Dang Van Chinh - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the project must strictly comply with regulations on technology, labor safety, fire prevention and fighting and environmental protection.
Investors need to develop a detailed construction plan for each stage, committing to completing it on schedule, not because they run the schedule but affect the quality.
In addition, the provincial leaders requested departments and branches to strengthen supervision, promptly remove difficulties in procedures and infrastructure, and create conditions for the project to be implemented synchronously.

In particular, the approval of buyers, renters, and tenants of social housing must be done publicly, transparently, in accordance with regulations, and to the right beneficiaries.
The Long Chau ward social housing project is built on an area of about 5,800m2, including a 15-storey block of houses with 456 apartments, meeting the needs of more than 1,824 residents.
The project is designed in a modern, airy direction, taking advantage of the wind of the Co Chien River, combining community activities, green space and entertainment area.
When completed, the project is expected to contribute to solving the housing problem for workers, while creating a civilized urban appearance for Long Chau ward.
"The People's Committee of Vinh Long province proposed that the Ministry of Construction submit to the Prime Minister to adjust the social housing target by 2030, reducing 15,000 units, from 38,500 to 23,500 units," Mr. Chinh added.
