On May 29, Grammy Award-winning singer Ariana Grande released the song "Hate that I made you love me". This is the opening single for her upcoming 8th studio album titled "Petal".
"I know that I will find my way from you like flowers from a tomb" (Temporarily translated: "I know that I will find a way out of you, like flowers rising from the grave") is Ariana Grande's impressive opening lyrics in her new music product.

The song is co-produced by the female singer herself with two big names Max Martin and ILYA. Ranked 2nd in the song list of the album "Petal", "Hate that I made you love me" also marks Ariana Grande's first independent single (not from a film soundtrack project) since the hit "Twilight zone" released in 2025.
Previously, on April 28, the voice of the hit "7 Rings" first announced the "Petal" project on her personal Instagram page. The female singer described this album collection of 12 songs as having a "wild" color. In a video shared with fans, she said: "This product definitely comes from a hidden corner that I used to be afraid of or too cautious to touch. Now, I just want to remove all limits".
The album "Petal" is expected to be released on July 31, 2026 through Ariana Grande's BabyDoll Music label, under the exclusive license of Republic Records. The album release time takes place right in the middle of the female singer's global tour "Eternal sunshine tour". This tour kicks off on June 8 in Oakland, California (USA) and is expected to close with 10 shows at O2 Arena, London (UK) in September.
Previously, on May 27, Ariana Grande continued to attract attention when releasing a short video (teaser) in a gruesome style for the official MV of the new song. The excerpt opens with the scene of actor Justin Long looking into the rearview mirror and discovering Ariana Grande's sharp eyes watching behind him. The complete music video will be released at 8 am on Monday (June 1, local time).
Petal" is Ariana Grande's next studio album after the success of "Eternal sunshine" (2024) - a product that once topped the Billboard 200 chart and owned two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles, "Yes, and?" and "We can't be friends". In 2025, this album returned to the Billboard 200 throne after the extended (deluxe) version called "Brighter days ahead" was released, helping the single "Twilight zone" enter the top 20 of the Hot 100 (position 18).
Besides her music career, Ariana Grande has also achieved many successes in the film industry. She and Oscar-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo have led the soundtrack for 2 blockbuster projects "Wicked" and "Wicked: For good". Both albums reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
At the Grammy Awards ceremony held on February 1st, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo won the "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" category with the classic song "Defying gravity". This fall, Grande will reunite with the big screen audience in the movie "Focker-in-law", starring alongside veteran stars Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.
