According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2025, the city welcomed more than 5.8 million international visitors and 29 million domestic visitors, with tourism revenue reaching VND 184,629 billion. With this growth momentum, Ho Chi Minh City is getting closer to the 2025 target of 10 million international visitors and 50 million domestic visitors.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that after expanding administrative boundaries, Ho Chi Minh City now owns 681 tourism resources that are qualified to develop into diverse destinations, stretching from vibrant urban space, traditional craft villages, modern industrial parks to poetic riverbanks and charming islands.
In the heart of the city, architectural heritages, modern museums, traditional markets, street food space and unique festivals have created the unique identity of Ho Chi Minh City tourism. This is an important foundation for the city's tourism industry to develop strongly, aiming to diversify products and experiences.
Notably, the tourism map of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger is no longer limited to familiar locations such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Doc Lap Palace or Ben Thanh Market, but has expanded to new potential destinations such as Vung Tau Beach, Long Hai, Dinh Mountain (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) or famous pottery villages in Binh Duong (previously). This richness brings visitors many options, from luxurious resorts, exploring nature to learning about local culture and history.
Along with that, 20 new culinary tourism programs have just been implemented, closely linking the food service system, shopping and new destinations. With the diversity and rich identity of these programs, Ho Chi Minh City continues to affirm its position as an international tourism center, a destination not to be missed on the world tourism map.
