On October 24, the leader of Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that the unit had just issued a document reminding tourists to ensure safety when swimming in unfavorable weather conditions.
In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 12, the Nha Trang sea area has had big waves, strong winds and rough seas.
This situation poses many potential safety risks, especially for people and tourists participating in sea activities, especially swimming.
The Rescue Team under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board has deployed a sea ban in dangerous areas along the Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong coastal park, where there are big waves and strong currents.
However, from October 18 to 22, in the coastal area of Tran Phu Street, there were 2 consecutive serious drowning incidents due to tourists swimming in the sea being swept away by large waves into the danger zone.
That was the case of a male tourist from Hanoi swimming in the sea on the afternoon of October 18, at the beach in front of Lodge Hotel (Tran Phu Street) being swept away by waves. The rescue team discovered the incident in time and quickly successfully rescued the male tourist, bringing him to shore.
At noon on October 22, in the coastal area of Tran Phu Park (opposite Maple Hotel), a male Russian tourist was swept away by large waves into deep water and was in critical condition.
The Rescue and Relief Team responded promptly and rescued the victim in a state of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. After receiving first aid from rescue team staff, the victim regained consciousness and was transferred to a medical facility for treatment.
Nha Trang Bay Management Board recommends that people and tourists strictly follow safety instructions to avoid risks in the current complicated weather.
The unit also issued a document requesting the People's Committees of Nha Trang Ward and Bac Nha Trang Ward to increase propaganda and remind people and tourists not to swim in the sea when there are warnings of danger.
Use loudspeakers and social networks to promptly update weather information to people and tourists.
For businesses, accommodation establishments and coastal hotels, it is necessary to inform and advise tourists about the rough seas, coordinate with rescue forces to remind them to comply with warning signs at the beaches.
