Key to sustainable cultural industry development of Da Nang

To develop a sustainable cultural industry, Da Nang City needs to solve the human resource problem, from income, policies to the working environment, so that artists can live by creativity and be attached for a long time.

The problem of keeping artists

The Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee has just issued an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing Vietnamese culture. And the issue that is being concerned is how to ensure that creative people can live, be attached to and develop for a long time.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Head of the Trung Vuong Theater choir, a singer who regularly participates in many programs and events of the theater, said that although professional activities are facilitated, in reality, to live stably by performing in Da Nang is still not without difficulties.

In addition to the support and concern from the theater, we hope that the city will have more preferential policies and long-term mechanisms so that artists from other localities when coming to work in Da Nang can settle down and be assured to stick with them for a long time. At the same time, it is necessary to expand training, exchange, and learning opportunities with domestic and international art units to improve expertise and develop careers" - Mr. Long expressed.

According to NSND Tran Dinh Sanh - former Director of Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater, the decisive factor in the development of the cultural industry in Da Nang is people. "To develop sustainably, it is still necessary to focus on the story of people and creative forces. The city currently lacks a professional film force, as well as a well-organized production and distribution center. Therefore, it is necessary to gradually invest, build and strengthen links with other localities to improve the strength in this field" - he analyzed.

Regarding the life of artists in Da Nang, Mr. Sanh said that although the current conditions have had certain improvements, it is not enough for professionals to truly feel secure in sticking with the profession for a long time. According to him, if a profession cannot help workers live by that profession, it will be difficult to create stability of force and depth of creativity. Therefore, the core issue today is how artists can live with the profession and wholeheartedly contribute, Da Nang needs to review each field, assess what has been and is lacking to build a suitable training and fostering plan.

Proactively building a force of artists

Meritorious Artist Tran Quang Hao - Director of Trung Vuong Theater - shared "Developing a team of actors and artists is always a major concern for us. Every year, the theater proactively implements promotion activities to find and supplement human resources, considering this as a key goal in each stage. The theater's staff regularly visits art training schools, graduation courses and training centers to recruit suitable personnel. At the same time, the theater also organizes formal training and casting sessions, thereby discovering and fostering many new factors, making positive contributions to the art activities of Trung Vuong Theater".

The Theater has built a strategy to rejuvenate the team in a clear way, allocating personnel appropriately for each type of job and program requirements. In parallel with the above solutions, in recent years, the Theater has also proactively proposed regimes and policies for actors and high-quality human resources in the field of art, and has received special attention from the city. Along with that, the unit actively creates a favorable environment to attract and develop human resources, not only through professional activities at the Theater but also expanding opportunities for artists to perform, interact, and learn at many domestic stages, as well as participate in flexible training courses suitable to reality.
