The 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition is held at the special national relic of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam. The exhibition program is from today, October 4 to October 14, 2024.
This is an opportunity to gather photographic creative forces across the country, summarize and evaluate the creative achievements of Vietnamese photography. At the same time, introduce to the domestic and international public the typical works of Vietnamese photographers.
After more than 3 months of launching, a total of 9,500 works were submitted to the contest. Including 8,873 realistic photos and 627 conceptual photos, by 1,373 authors in 63 provinces and cities.
The Art Council established by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected 250 outstanding works. Of these, 200 works are in the genre of realistic photography and 50 conceptual photos by 194 authors are on display at the exhibition.
At the program, 33 excellent works were awarded, including 3 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 8 bronze medals and 15 consolation prizes; one work was awarded the Outstanding Work Award about Hue.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said at the program: "The 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Contest and Exhibition is a cultural and artistic activity of practical significance to celebrate the Liberation Day of the Capital, October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024.
Through the Vietnam Art Photography Contest and Exhibition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes to encourage artists to create new works of art with valuable content, serving the cultural and spiritual life of the people. This activity also contributes to introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to domestic and international audiences.
The works in the program are the passion and creative achievements of the authors over the past 2 years, reflecting the artists' emotions, perceptions and thoughts about the reality of life.
Another part is that this is also an activity to introduce the image of Vietnam in the process of development and integration with realistic and rich camera angles.
