The length of history
According to documents recording the history of Quang Nam province from the Quang Nam electronic information portal, the land of Quang Nam has gone through a long journey with many changes and fluctuations.
Under the reign of Le Thanh Tong (1471)), Quang Nam belonged to Dai Viet, and during the time Trinh - Nguyen divided the army, Quang Nam was under the management of King Nguyen (from 1570).
Hoi An was then chosen as the only trading point with the world. Through creative labor, Quang Nam has contributed to the nation's water-opening process and created a prosperous life for a region - Quang.
In 1806, King Gia Long unified the country. Administratively, the king divided the country into 23 towns and 4 provinces in the Khmer land, including Truc Le - Quang Duc, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Quang Nam province.
In 1831, King Minh Mang changed the town and the province's capital. Quang Nam officially became a province from this year.
In 1888, under King Thanh Thai, Da Nang City separated from Quang Nam. At that time, Da Nang had become the largest trading port in the Central region. The kings of the Nguyen Dynasty paid special attention to the Da Nang estuary as this was a gateway under the pressure of "cherry boxes" from the West.
After encroaching on our country, in 1889, the French colonialists named Da Nang Tourane, under the direct control of the Indochina Governorate.
In the early 20th century, Tourane was built by the French to become a Western-style urban area. Social infrastructure and production techniques are invested. Manufacturing and trading occupations are formed and developed.
Along with Hai Phong and Saigon, Tourane has become an important commercial center of the country.
In 1950, France returned Da Nang to the Bao Dai government.
Meanwhile, after the Geneve Agreement, around 1956, Quang Nam province was divided into two new provinces, Quang Da (sometimes called Quang Nam) in the North, including Hoa Vang, Dai Loc, Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, Duc Duc, Hieu Nhon, Que Son, Hieu Duc, Thuong Tin and Quang Tin province in the South, including Thang Binh, Tien Phuoc, Hau Duc, Ly Tin, Hiep Duc and Tam Ky.
In the memoir "Family, friends and country" by Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, Quang Nam was divided into two regions, Quang Da and Quang Tin, during the resistance war against the US.

At the same time, in her book about her hometown Quang Nam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh mentioned the cultural and historical similarities between Quang Nam and Da Nang.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh wrote, "Although separated in administrative organization, in history, tradition, and culture, Quang Nam, including Da Nang, is always one".
Cohesion
After the country's reunification in 1975, the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam decided to merge the two provinces of Quang Nam (also known as Quang Da), Quang Tin and Da Nang City to form Quang Nam - Da Nang province with Da Nang as a province.
Quang Nam - Da Nang province includes Da Nang City and Hoa Vang, Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, Thang Binh, Tam Ky, Dai Loc, Que Son, Tien Phuoc, Tien Giang, Phuoc Son, Tra My districts.
In 1996, at the 10th session, the 9th National Assembly passed a Resolution allowing Quang Nam - Da Nang province to separate into Quang Nam province and Da Nang city under the Central Government.
