According to Da Nang City People's Committee, the fourth Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) is scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026 with the theme "DANAFF - Bridge from Asia to the World".
According to the plan, DANAFF IV is expected to gather about 900 delegates, artists and film experts, including more than 200 international guests.
Two main categories including the Asian Film Awards and the Vietnam Film Awards continue to be maintained, with about 12 to 14 Asian films and 8 to 12 Vietnamese feature films selected to compete for awards.
The organizers also built a system of awards with high professional and economic value to encourage filmmakers to invest in quality works.
In which, the Best Asian Film award is worth 135 million VND; the awards for directors, actors and scripts have prizes ranging from 54 to 81 million VND.
For the Vietnamese film category, the award for the best film is worth 70 million VND. In addition, NETPAC awards, Critics' awards and Audience Choice awards continue to contribute to creating diversity in film honoring activities.
A noteworthy new point of DANAFF IV is the expansion of academic activities and connecting the film industry. For the first time, issues such as intellectual property copyright protection, the face of Vietnamese cinema through 40 years of renovation or the strategy for developing the film industry ecosystem will be discussed at thematic seminars.
Activities such as the Film Project Market, advanced classes with international experts and the Young Talent program are expected to become "incubators" for the new generation of filmmakers, while creating a practical bridge between film projects and investors.
Not only focusing on professional factors, DANAFF IV continues to aim to bring cinema closer to the public through many side activities such as outdoor film screenings, artist exchanges, DANAFF's Cinephiles film-loving community and thematic programs on Asian cinema, American cinema and contemporary Vietnamese cinema.
Maintaining and upgrading DANAFF is considered an important step in Da Nang's cultural industry development strategy.
Through cinema, the city not only promotes the image of a dynamic, creative and friendly city but also gradually affirms its capacity to organize large-scale international cultural events, contributing to promoting tourism and strengthening cultural exchange in the region and the world.
