Adapted from the novel by Mai Bao Tieu Lang Quan, "Dai Phung Da Canh Nhan" tells the story of Duong Lang (Vuong Hac De) - a real estate agent who accidentally time-travels to the world of Dai Phung after participating in a crime-solving game with the identity of Hua That An.
However, That An immediately faced a major incident, being arrested and imprisoned due to being involved in a case of losing silver from the royal court.
To survive, That An uses the content from the crime investigation books he read in modern times as well as knowledge of mathematics, physics, and chemistry to expose the case and clear his name.
After the incident, That An became famous as a "master of solving cases" and was highly regarded. However, he tried to find his own path, creating a completely new Dai Phung. During this journey, he developed feelings for Lam An (Dien Hi Vi) - the lovely second princess.
On the evening of December 28, the show aired its first 4 episodes with impressive advertising results with 11 brands, 42 commercials with a total duration of 406 seconds. Of which, episodes 3 and 4 recorded 11 commercials/episode, with a total duration of 109 seconds.
After 1 hour of showing, the temperature score of "The Great Phoenix" reached 25,000 points on Tencent, while the average viewership rating of the film on Khuc Van (China's statistics platform) reached 1.1642%.
Despite its good advertising results, the film is still on the hot search because it is difficult to watch. According to Chinese media, the film is currently divided into two opinions.
One side thinks that the plot of "The Great Phoenix Strikes the Canh Nhan" lacks logic and is not as interesting as "The Last Qing Dynasty". The dialogue and acting skills of Vuong Hac De are bad and exaggerated.
The way the male star overuses frowning and opening his mouth makes viewers feel uncomfortable. Along with that, his awkward interactions with his co-stars are also a minus point.
However, the other side argued that the film was very funny, Vuong Hac De's lines were suitable for the character, the film's pace was fast and engaging, and the film's colors were beautiful.
Currently, opinions surrounding the content and acting of the movie "The Great Phoenix Strikes the Gengren" are still being hotly discussed on social networking platforms inside and outside China.
The majority believe that if the film continues to receive negative feedback, it will be difficult for it to achieve high results, like "Eternal Night Galaxy" and "Nine Heavy Sons" did before.
