On the morning of April 8, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee organized a national conference to study, study, thoroughly grasp and implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress for press, publishing, artists and intellectuals.
The conference was organized in a direct combined online form, connecting to localities across the country, with the participation of leaders of central and local agencies, along with a large number of journalists, artists and intellectuals.
At the conference, delegates listened to key topics, focusing on clarifying new and core points in the 14th Congress Document; views and tasks on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people; orientations for science and technology development in the new period; as well as requirements set for the field of journalism and publishing.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Comrade Tran Thanh Lam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission said that the 14th Party Congress has opened a new stage of development with higher requirements for thinking, action and responsibility of the entire political system, in which the press, publishing, artists, and intellectuals play a particularly important role.
Emphasizing the requirement to bring the Resolution into life, Comrade Tran Thanh Lam clearly stated: "Learning and thoroughly grasping must be implemented in a substantive, continuous, non-formal manner, associated with the specific characteristics of each field". At the same time, he noted that each agency, unit, and individual must not only stop at building plans, but must be imbued with the spirit of innovation, thereby deploying creatively and effectively in practice.
Regarding the field of journalism and publishing, he requested to continue strong innovation in the direction of professionalism, humanity, and modernity. Accordingly, it is necessary to shift from management thinking to development creation; improve content quality, ensure accurate, fast, good, and sharp information, and at the same time promote digital transformation to master the media space.
With the team of artists, Comrade Tran Thanh Lam emphasized: "Artists play an important role in fostering the spiritual life of society, creating works of long-term value, contributing to enriching the national value system, spreading Vietnamese culture and arousing aspirations for development.
For intellectuals and scientists, he believes that it is necessary to remove barriers to mechanisms, create a favorable environment for research and innovation, so that science and technology truly become a driving force for development. Thereby contributing to solving the problems of the digital economy, green economy, and circular economy.
In particular, Comrade Tran Thanh Lam emphasized that the human factor is key: "People are the breakthrough stage of every breakthrough, so it is necessary to build a team of cadres, journalists, artists, and intellectuals who are dedicated and qualified". Accordingly, there needs to be a mechanism to attract and treat them appropriately, associated with promoting professional ethics and social responsibility.
Regarding the organization of implementation, he requested Party committees, Party organizations and agencies and units to quickly concretize the Resolution with action programs associated with each field and locality; strengthen inspection, supervision and periodic evaluation. The implementation must not stop at the plan but must be measured by specific results, associated with the responsibility of each organization and individual.
Regarding the requirement to concretize the Resolution through action, he clearly stated: "Resolutions only truly go into life when they are concretized by action programs, projects, and schemes with clear addresses, completion times, and specific measures of effectiveness.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Tran Thanh Lam expressed his belief that the team of journalists, publishers, artists, and intellectuals will continue to promote their pioneering role, contributing to bringing the Resolution of the XIV Congress quickly into life, strongly arousing the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.
