On January 7, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received a Letter from writer Bao Ninh. The Ministry has assigned functional units of the Ministry to meet, exchange, and listen to the opinions of writer Bao Ninh.
Based on reviewing the voting criteria, comprehensively and comprehensively re-evaluating the voting process; based on the plan, regulations, voting criteria and respecting the aspirations of the individual author, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 14/QD-BVHTTDL dated January 8, 2026 on removing the work War Sadness by author Bao Ninh from the list of acceptance and announcing the voting for 50 typical and outstanding Vietnamese literary and performing arts works after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) issued together with Decision No. 4313/QD-BVHTTDL dated November 13, 2025.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism respectfully thanks the attention of agencies, organizations, individuals and the public to the voting for 50 typical and outstanding Vietnamese literary and artistic works performed after the country's reunification day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
In the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to improve the process of selection and honoring in the fields of culture, literature, and art, especially for large-scale and deeply socially impacting activities, in order to ensure science, objectivity and social consensus.
