The conflict between actor Kim Soo Hyun and the family of the late actor Kim Sae Ron has lasted for 9 months but has not yet come to an end.
Kim Soo Hyun's side has repeatedly denied the accusation of dating minors, and accused Kim Sae Ron's family of forging messages and related evidence.
Recently, citing the Nate newspaper, lawyer Boo Ji Seok - legal representative of the family of the late actor Kim Sae Ron - announced the results of the digital appraisal related to the dialogues between Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun.
According to the family, Kim Sae Ron's entire electronic device, including his mobile phone, was handed over to the investigation agency and the family always cooperated throughout the work process.
The family said that on November 2, 2025, they issued a press release asking lawyer Ko Sang Rok - Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative - to stop considering the incident as fabricated and wait for the investigation results.
Although lawyer Ko had previously declared that he would respect the investigation process, he continued to make statements on YouTube and the media, and responded to an interview on November 27, 2025 (a report published on December 3, 2025) with the content continuing to deny the authenticity of the case.
The family said that this forced them to announce the results of the digital forensic examinations of the dialogues to avoid escalating controversy, and confirmed that the KakaoTalk recordings between Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun had been fully submitted to the investigation agency.
Previously, Kim Soo Hyun's side affirmed that the KakaoTalk screenshot on April 2, 2018 was not his but a product of cutting and inserting messages from a conversation with another person. The content of "I want to meet you right now" is also considered by this side to not be written by the actor.
In related developments, the family of the late actor Kim Sae Ron through Ga Se-yeon (Garosero Research Institute) confirmed that Kim Sae Ron had a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun for 6 years, starting when she was a minor. In response to this accusation, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference and completely denied it, affirming that the victim's family's statement was "proof of forgery and editing".
Currently, the two sides continue to face each other in civil and criminal lawsuits. Kim Soo Hyun has filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron's family and the operator of Garosero for defamation under the Law on Promoting the Use of the Information and Communications Network, and requested 12 billion won in damages. In contrast, the victim's family sued Kim Soo Hyun for violating the Children's Welfare Law and made false accusations.
