The "Forever the better" television bridge was restored by Vietnam Television on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's peace, unified with three bridges at Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi), a special national monument in the area of the Hai Luong - Ben Hai Bank (Quang Tri) and Saigon Riverside Park, Thu Duc City (HCMC).
The program consists of 3 chapters: "Aspiration for Peace", "Union of Will for Independence" and "I am proud to go up!" Oh Vietnam with many documents recreating the heroic history of the nation, bringing the audience many emotions.
Reviving the desire for peace
The colorful relief paintings at the foot of Hien Luong Monument not only tell about the heroic land of Quang Tri but also depict the tragic history, the glorious milestones of our army and people throughout the long-term resistance war against the US.
Quang Tri is both the site of fierce political struggles and the fiercest battlefield of the resistance war against the US. Millions of tons of bombs and bullets have fallen on this land, but previous generations have overcome all hard sacrifices, fought steadfastly and bravely to liberate their homeland.

Interspersed with music performances, the audience witnessed documentary footage shared by Major General Huynh Dac Huong - Former Deputy Minister of Labor - Invalids, Ms. Le Thi Nhu Hao... about the steadfast struggle of the nation after the Geneve Agreement was signed and the continuous efforts and labor of the team of workers and farmers nationwide to move towards the Incaritable South.
During the fierce years of the resistance war against the US, saving the country, both generations of young people, students and students in the North "ranked a pen to go to the battle". The more fierce the war, the courageous spirit of the youth volunteers on the front line became more intense, revived the mighty will, determined the victory of the nation.

In particular, at the end of chapter 1, the audience was moved when listening to President Ho Chi Minh's National Appeal to save the country on July 17, 1966, nearly 60 years later.
The determination to unify the country
In 1968, the general attack and rebellion of the Lunar New Year exploded. The truth about the brutal war was the first time to reach the public. Ms. Vu Thi Minh Nghia - Veterans of Saigon Special Rangers - affirmed: "The plan for many years ago. As long as our people are more oppressive, more and more sacrificed. The "Imagine" melody resounded with the image of the 81 -day battle in the ancient citadel of Quang Tri - the heroic history of the nation. The battle met the task of supporting the political -diplomatic struggle, the victory of "Dien Bien Phu in the air" in 1972 demoted a decisive blow, forcing the United States to sit at the table to sign the Paris Agreement in January 1973.
In chapter 2 of the program, art performances combined with 3D mapping technology vividly recreated the moment our army entered the Unity Hall, bringing viewers back to the important historical moment.
In particular, the audience was touched when listening to the letter to the living - the letter that 3 soldiers liberated troops before sacrifice left for posterity. After completing the mission, injured and hungry, they chose themselves a location of the primeval forest in the upstream of Dong Nai River as their last place. The content of the letter left a silence in the audience, closing chapter 2 full of emotion.
Proud of the two words "Vietnam"
50 years have passed since April 30, 1975 - a historical milestone to summarize a tragic chapter in the epic of the Vietnamese people. After half a century, the soldiers who stood on both sides of the front line have overcome the difference, ending the pain of the past.
At the Ho Chi Minh City bridge, a touching story is recreated. That is American veteran Novello Adolph William - who has preserved the memorabilia of martyr Kha Van Viet for 50 years and directly handed it over to the martyrs' families on stage.
The valuable documents and photos have been restored and enlarged into worship photos, symbolizing gratitude and connection between people who have been on both sides of the front line. This action not only shows friendship but also shows understanding and compassion between the two peoples of Vietnam and the US in the present.


The program closed in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. The victory of the Vietnamese people in the resistance war against the US to save the country continued to be confirmed as one of the most dazzling history pages, a great feat of the twentieth century, and a strong source of inspiration for the Vietnamese people to confidently enter the new era.
