The 2025 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival will be held in conjunction with major events: the 725th Anniversary of the death of Hung Dao National Hero Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and the 583rd Anniversary of the death of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai. At the same time, this is also the occasion to announce the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son Relic and Scenic Landscape Complex, which was officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
This is the first festival season after the locality has implemented the arrangement of administrative units and organized a two-level local government apparatus. This year's festival is of special significance, an opportunity to announce, honor and promote the outstanding global values of the newly recognized World Heritage Site.
Therefore, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to propose organizing a festival on a large scale, raising the level of both the festival and the festival in the direction of standardization, solemnity, and compliance with traditional rituals.
The festival focuses on October 7 (ie August 16 of the lunar calendar) including a series of activities: Commemoration of the 583rd anniversary of the death of National Hero and World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai; Commemoration and opening ceremony of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2025 and announcement of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic complex and scenic spots recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; Opening ceremony of the seal of Saint Tran.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized that the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic complex, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is the joy not only of Hai Phong city but also the pride of the whole country.
The task of the industry is not only to preserve relics but also to promote the value of heritage, so that heritage lives in the hearts of the people, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. Therefore, the annual festival must have innovative and attractive features but not distort traditional values.
The Director of the Department requested the Relic Management Board, specialized departments and consulting units to study and propose, and arrange each space at the upcoming festival to fully absorb cultural values, bringing unique experiences to visitors.
Regarding the proposal to organize the live performance art program "Uy Linh Kien Bac - Con Son" with a grand scale, sparkling, and a partial stage set up on the Luc Dau River, the Director of the Department suggested considering the organization time to achieve the highest efficiency, attracting and serving a large number of tourists.
In addition, it is necessary to allocate and organize cultural and artistic activities throughout the festival so that people and tourists have the opportunity to enjoy when coming to the relic. The goal of each activity is to bring value and efficiency to the city, people and tourists.
The city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also assigned a professional department to coordinate with tourism associations and travel agencies to urgently build tours and tourist routes connecting the city's tourist attractions, especially relics in the city's world heritage complex, for example the tour "1 city - 2 world heritages" or "1 city - 5 world heritages"... In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to doing a good job of propaganda, promotion of festivals and heritage values.
