Accordingly, the bodies of the two people swept away by the flood have now been found, Lo Van E and Lo Van T (both residing in Huoi Sai village, Chieng So commune).
Two other victims were also swept away by floodwaters but have not been found, including Lo Van Noi and Ca Van Mai, both residing in Na Can 2 village, Chieng So commune.
According to the preliminary report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Son La province, flash floods have caused 4 houses to be swept away, 21 houses to be urgently evacuated, nearly 70 hectares of rice were flooded, hundreds of livestock and poultry were swept away by floodwaters. Some areas of the village affected by flash floods are temporarily isolated.

Electricity, telecommunications and traffic infrastructure were severely damaged with 60 transformer stations without power, 31 telecommunication stations were interrupted, 8 suspension bridges and many roads were eroded and cut off.

The local government has urgently deployed rescue forces to support people in evacuating and overcoming the consequences.
On the morning of July 27, leaders of Son La province directly visited the damaged areas to direct the response work, clear the road on National Highway 4G and visit the families of the victims.

The risk of flash floods and landslides is forecast to continue to be high in mountainous districts.
