The dispatch clearly stated that according to the summary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (from the report of the People's Committee of Son La), on the night of July 26 and early morning of July 27, in the communes of Song Ma, Sop Cop, Huoi Mot, Chieng So, heavy rain occurred, causing flash floods and landslides, killing at least 2 people and leaving 4 people missing.
The People's Committee of Son La province and local authorities have urgently deployed search and rescue work and remedied the consequences.
The Prime Minister sent his condolences to the families of those who died or went missing, and shared the difficulties and losses of the people in the disaster-affected areas.
To focus on quickly overcoming the consequences of flash floods and landslides, the Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province to directly direct and mobilize forces to focus on searching for missing people ( paying special attention to ensuring absolute safety for forces participating in search and rescue); treating the injured.
Organize visits, encourage and support families of deceased and missing people according to regulations; support families in caring for the deceased according to local customs.
Mobilize forces, materials, and means to quickly repair landslides on roads, ensure traffic safety; By all means, access areas affected by flash floods and landslides must be provided, promptly support people, and resolutely prevent people from going hungry.
