The new Miss International, full name is Catalina Duque Abron, 1.8 m tall, possesses a radiant face, vang hair, attractive gray eyes and a healthy, sexy body. Her victory was considered deserved as Catalina maintained a stable performance throughout the competition. She is continuously ranked by international beauty sites as a top candidate.
In the final night, the Colombian beauty surpassed 79 other contestants in important competitions such as co-performance, swimsuit performance, evening gown and especially the presentation round.
Miss Huynh Thanh Thuy, the reigning Miss International and the person who handed over the crown, also praised Catalina Duque for fully gathering the factors that the contest is aiming for.
The highlight that helped Catalina Duque completely conquer the main judges was the response for the Top 5. When asked about describing the experience at Miss International for her family and loved ones, she cleverly incorporated a profound philosophy of Japanese culture: "mono no aware" - the beauty of small things.
Catalina shared: "Before, I thought that only big moments were really important. But when I learned about Japanese culture, I learned about 'mono no aware' - the beauty of small things: like the way fallen leaves make things more beautiful in the fall, like the way children hug me and smile... that reminds me to appreciate life and enjoy every moment."
The new beauty queen is a highly educated person who graduated from the Social Communications major at EAFIT University, one of the prestigious schools in Colombia. She is fluent in three languages: English (due to living in the US), Spanish and Portuguese.
Before coming to Miss International, Catalina Duque was crowned Senorita Colombia 2024. She has a clear view of the role of a beauty queen, believing that beauty pageants should not only be "beauty performances" but also "beauty pageants based on social mission," promoting intelligence and community responsibility.
Catalina Duque's coronation is expected to bring a modern Miss model, harmoniously combining physical beauty, knowledge and humanity in the mission of spreading peace and beauty to the world.
