Jin signed a transfer contract for a 235 m² apartment at Hannam The Hill complex, Yongsan District, Seoul on April 6.
The transaction value reached 12.7 billion won (about 237 billion VND). Buyers completed payment and officially received apartment ownership on June 27.
The BTS member bought this real estate in July 2019 for 4.49 billion won (about 84 billion VND). If only comparing the buying and selling prices, the difference after nearly 7 years reached 8.21 billion won (nearly 154 billion VND).
However, the above figure is not the net profit that the male singer received. The actual income from the deal also depends on real estate transfer tax, house purchase tax, brokerage fees and related expenses.
When Jin bought the apartment in 2019, the file did not record the mortgage. This suggests that he paid the full amount in cash. The new buyer also did not register for the mortgage for the transaction of 12.7 billion won, but the specific source of money has not been announced.
Before this deal, Jin was said to own three apartments in Hannam The Hill. In November 2019, he bought a 206 m2 apartment for 4.27 billion won (nearly 80 billion VND).
By March 2025, the male idol will continue to spend 17.5 billion won (about 327 billion VND) to buy a 243 m2 penthouse. The transaction once set a price record at the apartment complex at that time.
After selling the 235 m2 apartment, Jin is said to still keep the 206 m2 apartment and the 243 m2 penthouse.
The contract signing time also attracted attention because it took place before the South Korean government restored a higher transfer tax policy for owners of multiple houses in managed areas, from May 10.
Hannam The Hill is built on land formerly belonging to Dankook University in Hannam-dong. This is one of the most famous high-end residential areas in Seoul, once the common residence of BTS and many figures in the Korean entertainment industry.
