According to Hankook Ilbo, at the press conference on the afternoon of March 31, Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative, lawyer Kim Jong Bok of LK & Parters law firm, stated: "Kim Soo Hyun and the management company Gold Medalist have decided to file a criminal and civil lawsuit against the people involved to clarify the truth.
Today, we filed a lawsuit against the family of Kim Sae Ron, who is known as her aunt, and the operator of the YouTube channel Garosero, for violating the Law on Promoting the Use of Information and Communications networks and defamation.
The lawsuit seeking 12 billion won (about VND209 billion) in damages has been filed in the Seoul Central District Court.
The lawyer explained why Kim Soo Hyun did not receive and answer the reporter's questions due to the current issues during the investigation and the need for a verdict by law.
At the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun stated that the evidence published by Kim Sae Ron's family to accuse him of dating the late actor from 2015-2016, when Kim Sae Ron was a minor, was all fabricated.
Kim Soo Hyun denied that all text messages were attributed to him and Kim Sae Ron since 2016, revealed by the actor's family at a press conference on March 27.
The actor said: The people who talked to Kim Sae Ron in the 2016 and 2018 messages were two different people. To prove this fact, I submitted evidence published by the deceased's family and my conversations with my acquaintances to a scientific verification agency for analysis. They concluded that the content of the messages was not from the same person.
Kim Soo Hyun's side affirmed that all the photos of him and Kim Sae Ron that YouTube channel Garosero said were taken since 2016 were taken in 2019.
Kim Soo Hyun emphasized: "If the evidence that the deceased's family was published is true, I would like them to submit all the documents to the investigation agency and request them to verify through legal procedures."
The actor once again affirmed that he had only been dating Kim Sae Ron for about a year, coinciding with the previous statement made by the management company, that the two dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020.
According to Kim Soo Hyun, he denied dating when Kim Sae Ron posted an intimate photo of the two (March 2024), because he was worried that the actors and staff of the film crew of Queen of Tears would be negatively affected.
Kim Soo Hyun said he is a shy person, always afraid of losing everything, being hurt.
"I felt scared so I avoided and denied it, so I was always in a defensive state. That lasted for a while.
Every time my private life story with the deceased is exposed. I thought I would say it all tomorrow. But every time I hesitate. Because I was afraid that my choice would affect those around me, Kim Soo Hyun said in tears.
