According to the lawyer, the photos, which are believed to be evidence of the intimacy between the two, have been carefully checked on Kim Soo Hyun's personal iPad. The adjacent image data allowed investigators to determine the time of filming as from February 18 to 23, 2020, when Kim Sae Ron was 18 years old. Mr. Go Sang Rok emphasized that the iPad had been submitted to the authorities in its original state, completely denying the accusation that the actor had committed acts related to minors.
Regarding the declaration draft that was attributed to Kim Sae Ron before his death, Kim Soo Hyuns side asserted that this was a fake document, showing signs of being written with outside support and had never been published. The lawyer quoted the message the actress sent to a reporter: "Is it true that the article will not be published and this has been resolved? I am very worried as evidence that she has no intention of releasing the draft.
The statement also pointed out the conflicts in this document, especially the detail: "I am 16 years old, the other is 30 years old". According to the lawyer, the 12-year age gap is an objective fact: if Kim Sae Ron is 16 years old, Kim Soo Hyun is only 28, and if he is 30, she is 18. Therefore, calling this "a prepared propaganda document" is to create a distorted image of the relationship between the two.
Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16, at the age of 24. Her family said the relationship lasted six years, starting when the actress was in high school. Kim Soo Hyun's side admitted to dating but confirmed that the relationship only lasted from the summer of 2019 to the spring of 2020. Currently, the actor and the crew have filed a criminal complaint for defamation, and requested compensation for damages of more than 8.9 million USD (equivalent to 12 billion won).
