This is a traditional cultural event imbued with the belief of worshipping the Fisherman of coastal fishermen, marking the time to go out to sea to exploit seafood after the Tet holiday.
The festival takes place with solemn rituals, such as: Whale worship ceremony, Sea God ceremony, incense offering ceremony to thank heaven and earth, praying for a year of favorable weather, full of shrimp and fish.
In particular, the ceremony to open the sea gate created an exciting atmosphere, motivating fishermen to stay at sea, go offshore, and contribute to the development of the local economy.
Following the success of the first organization in 2024, Thanh Lan Sea Opening Festival increasingly affirms its unique cultural significance, not only maintaining tradition but also aiming to become an attractive tourism product.

The event attracted a large number of people, tourists and over 300 delegates representing district and commune leaders, armed forces, businesses, and Co To Tourism Association.

Thanh Lan Sea Opening Festival is therefore not only a religious event but also a bond that connects the community, arouses national pride, and fuels the spirit of fishermen at the headland of the country.
