According to initial information, at 6:15 a.m. on December 23, 2024, ship BKS TH-92686, captained by Mr. Tran Van Hong, born in 1985, residing in Hai Binh ward, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province, and 12 crew members, while operating in the waters southeast of Co To island, encountered big waves, strong winds, water flooded into the ship, and was at risk of sinking.
Immediately after receiving the news, Co To Border Guard Station, Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard sent 10 officers and soldiers along with a 500CV motorboat to coordinate with fishing boats of fishermen in the above sea area to participate in the rescue.
The 13 fishermen on board were successfully rescued. All 13 crew members are in stable condition. By 10am on December 23, the rescue team had safely towed the wrecked vessel to Co To port.
