On the first day of the festival (the 4th day of Tet), Binh Dinh province held a flower and incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 236th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory (1789 - 2025).
Along with the festival, some locations in Tay Son district also organize cultural and sports activities to serve the people and tourists coming to the festival, such as folk card playing festival; performance of folk opera, folk song; lion, lion and dragon dance; inter-provincial traditional martial arts competition...
At the flower offering ceremony at the Emperor Quang Trung Monument, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh recalled the spirit of uprising of the Tay Son movement and the Tay Son Dynasty, associated with the great contributions of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
On the 5th day of the Lunar New Year of the Rooster in 1789, under the brilliant command of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, the Tay Son army defeated 290,000 invading Qing troops, creating the historic victory of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da, one of the glorious feats and pride of the Vietnamese people.
In the spring of 1771, the Tay Son uprising, under the leadership of the three brothers Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue and Nguyen Lu, received strong support from all classes of people, heroes and patriotic scholars. The uprising quickly spread and achieved many resounding victories.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized that promoting the spirit of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory and the swift, victorious spirit of Emperor Quang Trung, all sectors, levels, the entire people and armed forces in the province continue to promote the strength of solidarity, the spirit of innovation, the will of self-reliance, the aspiration to rise up, join hands and unite to "accelerate" and "breakthrough".
"At the same time, strive to compete in labor, production and business, maximize the potential and advantages of the province; mobilize all resources for investment and development, in order to successfully and comprehensively implement the goals and tasks of socio-economic development in 2025, marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Dinh province - the pride and glory of Binh Dinh homeland.
"Strive to build Binh Dinh into a fairly developed province in the country; meet the people's expectations, contribute to the whole country's successful implementation of the renovation process, and strive for strong development," said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh.
At the ceremony, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung and provincial and district leaders respectfully offered incense at the Temple of the Father and Mother of the Three Tay Son Heroes and offered flowers and incense at the Quang Trung Museum to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of the Tay Son Dynasty and the civil and military mandarins of the Tay Son Dynasty.
