On the evening of February 2nd, at Ben Ninh Kieu Park, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho city coordinated with relevant units to organize the opening ceremony of the Finals of the "Music, Folk Songs, Spring Sketches" Festival of Can Tho city in 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City - said that the "Music, Classical Songs, Spring Sketches" Festival has become an annual activity of Can Tho city every Spring, aiming to create conditions for mass art units, individuals who love and have artistic talents to have the opportunity to meet, exchange, and compete.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, this year's festival is also an opportunity to inspect, review, and realistically evaluate the mass art movement in localities and the whole city after the merger. From there, find appropriate and feasible solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of grassroots cultural and artistic activities, better meeting the increasing needs of enjoying and participating in cultural and artistic performances of the people throughout the city.
Through 5 preliminary round nights held from January 21 - 25, at 3 locations: Vi Tan ward, Phu Loi ward and Ninh Kieu ward, the Organizing Committee selected 160 performances to participate in the Final Performance of the Festival.
There are more than 300 actors, musicians from 21 ward and commune units and freelance contestants from agencies, departments, branches, unions; schools; non-public art units; talent clubs, teams, groups and individuals in the city participating in the performance.
According to the Organizing Committee, the festival will summarize and award prizes on the evening of February 7.
