On October 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Ho Chi Minh City Police temporarily detained Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan (nickname Ngan 98) - the operator of Zu Bu shop Trading and Service Company Limited - to investigate the act of producing and trading counterfeit food under Article 193 of the Penal Code.
Ngan 98, real name Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan in Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai), was once known as a DJ and photo model with a large number of followers on social networks.
She emerged in 2017 with the title of "hot girl with big breasts" after participating in a number of small-scale beauty contests. However, Ngan 98 attracted attention not only because of her artistic activities but also because of a series of controversial statements, images and incidents.
She once caused a stir in public opinion when she posted many offensive dress clips on social media. Ngan 98 also had a noisy relationship with singer Luong Bang Quang, who is 16 years older than her. The couple often share intimate photos, livestream publicly about their love life, have plastic surgery, and have even been punished many times for violating traditional customs.
In addition to being a DJ, Ngan 98 also sells beauty products and functional foods through the ZuBu brand. On Facebook and TikTok platforms, she often promotes weight loss and collagen products with the introduction of "fast, safe results".
However, by mid-October 2025, the authorities determined that Ngan 98 operated the production and trading of counterfeit food through the ZuBu system. According to the initial investigation results, she was accused of placing processing, labeling in violation of regulations and consuming products that were not licensed for circulation. Revenue from this activity is said to be up to hundreds of billions of VND.
Before being arrested, Ngan 98 still maintained her image as a "hot business girl" with a sexy style, often appearing at entertainment events and interacting enthusiastically on social networks.
