According to Korean media, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein) updated their previous social media accounts, including their new name, "NJZ," to "mhhdh_friends," and deleted all previously posted posts. A private account believed to be managed by the members' parents has also been renamed "mhdhh_pr".
It is said that "mhdhh" is an abbreviation formed from the initials in the English names of the members: Minji (M), Hanni (H), Danielle (D), Haerin (H) and Hyein (H).
Previously, in November last year, five members of NewJeans announced that their exclusive contract with ADOR had been terminated due to violations and began pursuing independent activities. In February 2025, they announced "NJZ" as their new group name instead of NewJeans.
In response, ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contracts, along with a ban on maintaining their position as their agency and a ban on signing advertising contracts.
The members have given 11 reasons for terminating the contract, including the absence of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.
However, the court accepted all of ADOR's ban requests last month. Therefore, NewJeans is currently unable to continue their independent activities and has announced the suspension of all promotional programs. Accordingly, the new group names are NJZ, NewJeans may not be used.
