The Golden Lion award (Best Film) - the most important award of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival - went to Father Mother Sister Brother by director Jim Jarmusch. This is an international cooperation project, jointly produced by 3 countries: the US, Ireland and France.
While the "Silver Lion" runner-up prize went to the work "The Voice of hind Rajab" by director Kaouther Ben Hania.
According to The Guardian, No Other Choice by Korean director Park Chan Wook, starring two famous faces of Korean cinema, Lee Byung Hun and Son Ye Jin, was left empty-handed, although highly appreciated, similar to Bugonia by director Yorgos Lanthimos with the participation of Emma Stone.
The debut work directed by Taiwanese star Thu Ky named Girl also did not win any awards, although it is considered an important step forward in her career.
The fact that Girl will have difficulty competing with other films in the nomination list was predicted in advance. Because it was her first time as a director and screenwriter, Thu Ky still had limitations.
Hollywoodreporter reviews Girl as a realistic but unviewable film and a bit cheesy and boring at first. Other critics also have mixed reviews of the work.
For No Other Choice, the film received many positive responses from the media and critics and received a 9-minute standing ovation at the premiere. This is also the expectation of Korean cinema after a long period of gloom in the international arena since the Oscar-winning work Parasite.
Despite the participation of two talented actors Lee Byung Hun and Son Ye Jin, as well as the direction of famous director Park Chan Wook who won awards 3 times at the Cannes Film Festival, No Other Choice is under great pressure when facing many strong competitors.
Before the awards ceremony, the most promising candidate predicted for the "Golden Lion" award was "The Voice of hind Rajab" by director Cambodia Kaouther Ben Hania, which won a record-breaking attention of 23 minutes at the premiere.

To the point that when Venice awarded the "Golden Lion" award to "Father Mother Sister Brother", the media questioned President of the Jury Alexander Payne right at the press conference about the results.
Regarding this controversy, Mr. Payne responded cleverly: "It is unfair at a film festival to say that one film is better than the other. In fact, that is not the case.
As judges, we respect both films as the same, each film has its own reasons.
We wish both films to last over time and find their own meaning. We also hope that the support from these awards will help the works in their own way.
