Citing information from HK01, actress Truong Ba Chi is currently facing a lawsuit from her former manager Du Duc Hung and his management company, accusing her of violating her contract and demanding compensation of nearly 13 million USD (nearly 44 billion VND).
On the afternoon of December 5, Truong Ba Chi attended an questioning session at the Hong Kong Supreme Court (China). The plaintiff is Du Duc Hung and AEG Entertainment Group Limited, and the defendant is Truong Ba Chi. Mr. Du said that he had spent more than 40 million USD (about 135 billion VND) to sign a contract with Truong Ba Chi, on the condition that she had to participate in 6 films as required by the company.
In 2012, Du Duc Hung and Truong Ba Chi continued to sign additional contracts for 2 other films, in which the producer gave the actress an advance of nearly 2.8 million USD (equivalent to 9.4 billion VND) in salary.
Mr. Duong Ba Chi did not comply with the agreement and asked her to compensate nearly 13 million HKD (44 billion VND). At court, Truong Ba Chi's side affirmed that these contracts were fake and that she had never signed any documents with Mr. Du.
In 2011, Truong Ba Chi bought an apartment at Century Tower, Mid-Levels, for 128 million HKD (433 billion VND). Because she still lacks 40 million HKD (135 billion VND) to complete the payment, she chose to cooperate with plaintiff, Mr. Du Duc Hung.
According to Truong Ba Chi, during the collaboration, Du Duc Hung repeatedly used threatening words that if she did not listen, he could "destroy her career" at any time.
At the trial, there were times when the actress could not contain her emotions, her voice choked up when she said that at that time she was very young and extremely scared, even worried that she could be forced to "retire at the age of 18" if Du Duc Hung tried to harm her.
