Born in 1990, Go Ara is famous for TV audiences through the films "Sharp", "Reply 1994" (Responsive 1994), "Chi co Hammurabi", "Hoa lang", "Gia thuong lang"...
After 5 years of absence from the small screen, Go Ara returns as the role of princess Hwari - a person who defies her status to find true love in the 19+ Korean drama "Chunhwa Love Story" (also known as: The Scandal of Chunhwa).
Speaking about this, the actress expressed: "I felt like I had waited patiently, personally chosen the projects, to find an interesting project like this. At first, Hwari was a somewhat immature character, but she will mature in the final episode."
Regarding the 19+ rating of "Chunhwa Love Story", Go Ara emphasized that this is just an aspect of the film, so instead of feeling burdened, she was drawn to the message of the story.
" more importantly, "Chunhwa Love Story" tells the story of many couples and the purpose is to show how those stories intertwine and contrast with the view of love in today's era. This is the reason why I am attracted to it."
According to the Korean star, unlike other roles that require her to spend a lot of time researching, playing the role of princess Hwari gives her a natural, easily sympathized feeling.
The reason is that when putting on a scale to compare themselves - famous in the entertainment industry since the age of 14 and the character - princess in the palace, both have similarities when receiving both admiration and criticism from others.
"In my childhood, every time I appeared at school, people recognized me and they would gather to see me. That was both fun and a little scary.
Because I am too famous, I often worry about whether I will cause trouble for others? Because of this, I cannot go out freely. Seeing Hwari imprisoned in the palace reminds me of my childhood."
The actress also sympathizes with the way the film depicts the struggles of women in the palace.
"There are heartbreaking love stories of many women who are oppressed in the palace and cannot do what they want. As a woman, there are many ways I can feel more moved when those problems are clearly recreated by the female director.
When filming this film, my female co-stars and I became closer, partly because the story was fun, partly because the message was easy to sympathize with."
The final episode of "Chunhwa Love Story" is scheduled to air on March 6.
