On the evening of May 5, singer Dam Vinh Hung held a live show called "The Day You Light the Stars" in Ho Chi Minh City. During the performance, Dam Vinh Hung wore an outfit by designer Tuan Tran, with "strange" emblems on the outfit.

In response to a wave of public reaction, on July 10, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City decided to administratively fine singer Dam Vinh Hung (real name Huynh Minh Hung) for wearing a strange badge in the live show "Ngay em den sao troi". Accordingly, Dam Vinh Hung was banned from performing for 9 months and paid an administrative fine of VND 27,500,000 for "administrative violations in performing arts using costumes, words, sounds, images, movements, means of expression, performance forms and behaviors contrary to good customs".
