In the context of integration and development, promoting the cultural identity of 54 brotherly ethnic groups has become an important spiritual foundation, contributing to creating internal strength for the country.
According to Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Trinh Ngoc Chung, after many years of organization, Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day has become a major festival of the great family of ethnic groups. This is an opportunity to honor traditional cultural values preserved through many generations, while arousing pride and sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting national cultural heritage.
This year, the meaning of the festival is multiplied when it is associated with the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities and the 18th anniversary of the implementation of Decision No. 1668/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day.
Notably, the series of activities of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups has created a lively exchange space between ethnic communities across the country.
Speaking at the "National Conference to deploy national cultural work and commend village elders, village chiefs, artisans, and prestigious people" within the framework of Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that national cultural work in the past time has achieved many important and quite comprehensive results.
The period 2021-2025 is identified as a stage to create a foundation, laying the foundation for further development steps. On that basis, the next period needs to strongly shift to more substantive, effective and sustainable development.
To achieve this goal, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized a number of major viewpoints that need to be unified. First of all, the culture of ethnic minorities must be identified as the spiritual foundation of society, and at the same time an important endogenetic resource for national development. In addition, it is necessary to take the community as the center, considering the community as the subject in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
Linking cultural preservation with economic development, especially cultural tourism and cultural economy, is also a direction that needs to be promoted. Along with that, innovating management methods in a modern direction, promoting digital transformation in the cultural field is an inevitable requirement in the current context.
The whole sector is highly unified in awareness and action, focusing on implementation with the goal: "Preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minorities must become a driving force for development, an internal resource and the soft power of the nation; and at the same time directly improve the material and spiritual life of the people" - Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy proposed.
From the community's perspective, delegate Y Nen Hmôk, Ede ethnicity (Krong Ana commune, Dak Lak province) said that in recent years, the community of 54 ethnic groups has always promoted the spirit of solidarity, attachment, and actively preserved and transmitted precious traditional cultural values. Not only stopping at cultural preservation, people also strive to develop the economy, improve their lives, and build villages that are increasingly prosperous and sustainable.
Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day not only has symbolic meaning but has become a practical driving force in consolidating the great national unity bloc. Through practical activities, the festival contributes to arousing pride and sense of responsibility of each citizen in preserving cultural identity, while creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the country in the future.
