There are still countless difficulties
Although Cheo art in particular and traditional arts in general have had some improvements and innovations to suit the trend, these types still face many difficulties. The theaters that are less bright mean that the younger generation of artists do not have many opportunities to perform and improve their expertise.
As the Meritorious Artist Van Mai (ca tru) shared, ca tru and many sports such as Xam, Tuong... have countless difficulties to reach the audience, like Cheo co. Not only limited by funding for maintenance, training and preservation, ca tru clubs also face the problem of having too few opportunities to perform.
Witnessing the common difficulties of traditional sports, Meritorious Artist Van Mai, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan and artists in many fields hope to bring the long-standing beauty to bloom once again. One of the directions is to integrate these sports into the modern music flow.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, People's Artist Thanh Ngoan affirmed that the innovation and spread of Cheo is partly due to modern entertainment models: "It is an interesting approach for young audiences to understand more about traditional performing arts. Although they are renewed and approached by international music, I believe that songs like the Dao Liu version of "Anh Trai" still carry the breath of Cheo, or the renewed melodies of Xam, Ca Tru, Tuong, Chau Van... have also inherited the beautiful values of traditional culture. I believe that not only adults love traditional art, but young people are also very interested, because that is the identity of the nation".
People's Artist Thanh Ngoan also cherishes the organization of large-scale shows, including all types of traditional performing arts such as ca Tru, Xam, cai luong, Tuong, Cheo... both to give artists the opportunity to perform and to let the audience understand more about the unique art treasures of the nation, and from there to distinguish the characteristics of the sports.
