Your partner is your first love
In her memoir Family, friends and the country, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh devoted her own chapters to writing about her relatives, about the wonderful man who was by her side, always carrying her family and children so she could work away from home continuously. In the third chapter of "I am a happy person", she recounted her love story with "Mr. Dinh Khang" - the guy she met when she was 16 years old, and spent her youth waiting.
Ms. Binh wrote, When I was 16 years old, my father worked at a Geophysical agency in Cambodia. Some graduates of the University of Science and Technology, Cau Cong Faculty, from Hanoi were sent to Cambodia for internships. My father has been in the profession for many years, so he was assigned to guide them. Among these young trainees, Dinh Khang was the one who worked the most with my father. Mr. Khang is a sports lover, good at table tennis, volleyball, and basketball. We often meet on the basketball court.
The affection between us flourished, and the days became more and more salty. But my father was very cautious, because he did not know Mr. Khang's family well, on the other hand, he also wanted me to study where I had come. At that time, I also had a number of boyfriends, but my love was only for Khang. We made a promise to each other....

When the resistance war against France broke out, "Mr. Khang" went to Hanoi to join the Viet Minh force, but Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh stayed to work in Saigon. It was not until 9 years later, when Mrs. Binh gathered in the North, that she met the man of her generation again.
Although during the 9 years apart, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh only received one letter from Mr. Dinh Khang with the words, "Wishing you and your whole family safety and health", during that time, they still waited for each other.
Ms. Binh wrote, when she met Mr. Dinh Khang again, he thoughtfully looked at her and asked, "Are you okay?", making her extremely emotional. Throughout my life, I will never forget that moment Ms. Binh wrote in her memoir.
After that, they got married. On December 1, 1954, a silver-clad wedding ceremony with a few bowls of candy, cigarettes, cups of sweet soup... was held at 2 Dinh Le, then the agency of the Ministry of Labor. Minister Nguyen Van Tao is the main wife.
Throughout her marriage, because of the revolutionary tasks, Mrs. Binh was often away from home, away from her husband and children, and Mr. Dinh Khang - her partner's silent partner always took care of all the housework so that she could work with peace of mind.
Ms. Binh wrote about her partner with a lot of love and respect.
I am a happy person. I got the person I fell in love with, and that was also my first love. Because of work, Mr. Khang and I are often away from each other. But the affection between us has helped me stand firm and complete my mission excerpt from page 28 of my memoir Family, friends and country.
Ms. Binh affirmed that the love of her husband, children and relatives has become her strength on her path to the revolution.
On December 25, 1989, Mr. Dinh Khang passed away, leaving a big void in the life of Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh.
