On the morning of May 23, in Hanoi, the Academy of Journalism and Communication in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam organized an International Scientific Conference with the theme "Journalism and Communication in the Context of AI Development".
Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hai Binh - Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - highly appreciated the Academy of Journalism and Communication for organizing an international workshop with a theme of current significance, right at a time when artificial intelligence (AI) is developing strongly and posing many new issues for the field of journalism and media.
According to Mr. Le Hai Binh, AI is profoundly changing the way people approach, produce and distribute information, while bringing great challenges to journalism ethics, fake news and cognitive manipulation.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hai Binh emphasized the important role of the press in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and orienting public opinion, and said that press management in the context of AI requires a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and flexible approach.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Trung Y - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - emphasized that the explosive development of AI is creating profound and comprehensive changes in all aspects of social life, especially in the field of journalism and media.
AI is not only changing the way of producing, distributing and receiving information, but also posing a series of challenges in ethics, information security and the role of journalists.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Trung Y, the press cannot stand outside the technology trend, and AI mastering must be oriented clearly and consistently to effectively serve the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, contributing to improving the effectiveness of policy communication and maintaining the Party's ideological foundation.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son - Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication - said that the rapid development of AI is opening up unprecedented opportunities and posing vital challenges for journalism and media.
AI not only fundamentally changes the process of producing, distributing and receiving information but also opens up outstanding possibilities in improving the quality and efficiency of communication. This development also raises many serious problems with professional ethics, legality and information security.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son affirmed that researching and mastering AI in the field of journalism is not only a technical story but also a big challenge in terms of principles, ideology and professional ethics.
Mr. Pham Minh Son suggested that scientists focus on key contents: Clarifying the theoretical and practical basis of AI impact; clearly identifying the opportunities and challenges that AI brings; proposing strategic solutions on policies, technology, human resource training and international cooperation; the role of training institutions, especially the Academy of Journalism and Communication, in innovating the program and improving the capacity of human resources in journalism and media.
