Recently, at the 3rd Session, the People's Council of Dien Bien province passed a Resolution stipulating policies to support the development of tourism products in the province.
This is an important mechanism to promote the development of unique and typical tourism products, gradually making tourism an important economic sector of the province.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Hai Ha - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province said that the promulgation of the Resolution is very important in contributing to perfecting the mechanism and policies for tourism development, attracting investment, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
In which, many practical support policies are stipulated for organizations and individuals operating in the field of tourism such as: Developing community tourism; investing in infrastructure for tourist areas and attractions; developing homestays; supporting the purchase of means of transporting tourists...
In addition, the Resolution also stipulates policies to support promotion and advertising; tourism startups; development of souvenir products, night economy; support for travel businesses and preferential credit loan policies to invest in tourism product development.
Specific subjects eligible for support include community tourism villages (Phieng Loi village, Che Can village, Na Su village, Huoi Nha village, Long village, Quan Chieng village, A Pa Chai village and community tourism villages, tourist attractions, tourist areas recognized by competent authorities.
In addition, the supported subjects also include tourist areas and tourist attractions recognized according to the provisions of the Tourism Law; Household businesses providing accommodation services with rooms for tourists to rent (homestay) belonging to community tourism villages and in Dien Bien Phu ward, Muong Thanh ward.
Along with that, there are also organizations and individuals participating in tourism business activities, implementing activities to build and develop tourism products and services in the province.
Supported cases will be applied according to the principle of ensuring publicity and transparency of the content, subjects, conditions, order, procedures, level of support and policy implementation results.
Each organization and individual is only entitled to support once for the same support content; except for contents supporting promotion, advertising, tourism communication and supporting the maintenance of activities of art troupes, art clubs....
In case an organization or individual invests in many different contents, they will be entitled to support policies for each content if they meet the conditions.
Notably, this is the first time Dien Bien province has issued a policy to support digital content creators (KOLs, KOCs) to promote tourism on digital platforms with a maximum support level of 50 million VND/organization or individual/year.
In addition, the Resolution also stipulates preferential credit loan policies through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, creating conditions for organizations, individuals, and households to invest in developing destinations and unique tourism products.
